Agreement

These terms are between you and Random Game Studios and cover your use of the Mines and Booms mobile app. Installing or using the game means you accept them. If you do not, uninstall it — that is the entire remedy and there is nothing else you need to do.

Your app store has its own terms as well, and where the store’s rules conflict with these, the store’s rules win.

What you may do

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Mines and Booms on devices you own or control, for your own entertainment. That licence is free of charge and lasts as long as you keep the game installed.

Recording, streaming and monetising your own gameplay footage is explicitly permitted, including on YouTube, Twitch and anywhere else, with no further permission needed and nothing owed to us.

What you may not do

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the game, except where law expressly permits it despite this term.
  • Redistribute, resell, rent or sublicense the game or any part of it.
  • Modify the game to gain an unfair advantage, or use tools that do.
  • Use the game to break the law, or to harm anyone else’s device or data.

Breaking these terms ends the licence. There is no ban list and no appeals process, because there is no account to ban.

Purchases

Mines and Booms is free to play. Some optional purchases are available, they are one-off rather than a subscription, and none of them are needed to finish or enjoy anything in the game.

Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. What you buy is a licence to use a feature inside the game, not ownership of anything, and it has no value outside the app.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from — Apple or Google — under their policies, which we cannot override. If a purchase did not deliver what it promised, email support@randomgamestudios.com and we will help you get it sorted.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase, but that right is lost once the content is delivered and you agreed to immediate delivery — which is what buying inside the game does.

Advertising

Mines and Booms is paid for by advertising. Ads are served by Google AdMob and we do not control which specific ad you see, though ad categories are restricted to what is appropriate for the game’s store rating.

We are not responsible for the content of a third-party ad or for anything on the other side of it. If you see an ad that is inappropriate or broken, send us a screenshot at support@randomgamestudios.com and it can be blocked at the network level.

Your progress

Progress is saved on your device only. There is no cloud save, so uninstalling the game, wiping the device or moving to a new phone loses your progress. That is a deliberate consequence of not making you have an account, and it cannot be recovered by us because we never had a copy.

Availability and changes

Mines and Booms is provided as it is. It may be updated, changed or withdrawn from sale at any time. The game does not depend on a server we run, so it keeps working whatever happens at this end.

Liability

The game is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it is free of bugs, and a game distributed free of charge cannot reasonably be held to more.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you for anything connected with the game is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim — which for most players is nothing.

If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms cannot take away, and nothing here is intended to.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country and may bring proceedings there.
