What this covers

This policy covers randomgamestudios.com — the website itself — and the studio’s dealings with you by email and through the playtest programme.

Each game has its own separate policy, because each game does something different. The full list is here.

The website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers and has no advertising on it. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

It loads one font stylesheet from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address and browser when a page loads, as it would for any site using that service. Nothing else leaves your browser.

Whoever hosts these files keeps ordinary server logs — IP address, time, page requested — for security and for keeping the site up. Those are not used to build any profile of you.

Email and the playtest programme

If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to deal with it and a reasonable while afterwards in case you write again.

If you join the playtest programme we hold the email address you gave us and which games you asked for. That address is used for two things: adding you to the tester list at Google or Apple so the build can reach you, and telling you when there is a new one.

Joining requires giving Google or Apple your email address, because that is mechanically how a closed test is distributed. Their handling of it is covered by their own policies. Leaving the programme is a one-line email and takes effect the same day.

Feedback forms are Google Forms, so responses sit in Google’s systems as well as ours.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent or trade anything about you. There is no arrangement under which anyone pays us for data, and there never has been.
  • Send marketing to people who did not ask for it.
  • Buy installs, buy reviews, or pay for testers. Every tester in the programme volunteered.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and GDPR you may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, and complain to your supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Write to privacy@randomgamestudios.com. Requests are answered within 30 days, usually the same week, by the person who runs the studio.
