What this covers

This policy covers randomgamestudios.com — the website itself — and the studio’s dealings with you by email and through the playtest programme.

Each game has its own separate policy, because each game does something different. The full list is here.

The website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers and has no advertising on it. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

It loads one font stylesheet from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address and browser when a page loads, as it would for any site using that service. Nothing else leaves your browser.

Whoever hosts these files keeps ordinary server logs — IP address, time, page requested — for security and for keeping the site up. Those are not used to build any profile of you.

Email and the playtest programme

If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to deal with it and a reasonable while afterwards in case you write again.

The playtest programme does not collect your email address at all. Android testing runs off a Google Group: you join the group yourself, Google Play reads that group as its tester list, and the build opens for you. We never receive, store or see the address — your membership of the group is between you and Google, under their policy. Leaving is one click in the group, and it takes effect immediately.

iOS testing is the exception. Apple’s TestFlight distributes by Apple ID, so if you ask for an iOS build you will have to give us an email address for the invite. That address is used to send the invite and to tell you when there is a new build, and for nothing else. Ask and it is deleted.

The Discord server is run by Discord, and anything you post there sits in their systems under their own policy. You do not need an account there to be a tester.

Feedback forms are Google Forms, so responses sit in Google’s systems as well as ours.

What we never do

Sell, rent or trade anything about you. There is no arrangement under which anyone pays us for data, and there never has been.
Send marketing to people who did not ask for it.
Buy installs, buy reviews, or pay for testers. Every tester in the programme volunteered.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and GDPR you may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, and complain to your supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Write to privacy@randomgamestudios.com. Requests are answered within 30 days, usually the same week, by the person who runs the studio.
