Your opponent is a real run, played back at its real timings
The ghost you race is not an AI and not a difficulty curve. It is somebody’s actual hundred taps, at the speed they actually hit them.
Updated 31 August 2026
There is no rubber-banding and nothing adapts to you mid-run. The times beside yours were achieved by a person, which is why losing by four hundredths feels the way it does.
Submitted runs are validated against a plausible input rate before they are ever handed to anyone as a ghost, so the thing you are chasing is reachable by a human hand.
Where the time actually is
- Not in tapping faster. It is in not moving your hand back to a rest position between taps.
- Watch the whole grid rather than the lit square. You are looking for the next light, not confirming the current one.
- A run is under a minute, so a bad start is not worth saving. Finish it and go again.
Is this wrong?
Then say so
These are written from the games’ own balance references, but a number that was true in one build can stop being true in the next. If something here does not match what you are seeing, that is worth knowing.
