Squares — Privacy Policy

The short version
This game collects an advertising ID, anonymous usage counts, crash reports, and nothing else. No name, no email address, no contacts, no photos, no location beyond the country the ad network infers from your connection.
Squares is made by Random Game Studios, an independent studio. This policy covers the Squares mobile app on iOS and Android and nothing else — every game has its own policy, written from what that build actually does.
What the game collects
- An advertising identifier. Your device’s resettable ad ID, used by the ad network to decide which ad to show and to avoid showing you the same one repeatedly. You can reset or switch it off in your device settings at any time.
- Anonymous usage events. Which screens were opened, which levels were finished and how long a session lasted, tied to a random identifier created when the app was installed. It is not tied to you, and deleting the app ends it.
- Crash diagnostics. If the game falls over, we receive the stack trace, your device model and your OS version so it can be fixed.
- Purchase state. Whether an optional purchase was completed, so the thing you paid for stays unlocked. The payment itself is handled by Apple or Google; the game never sees your card details or your billing address.
- Scores you choose to submit. A score, a run time and a display name you pick yourself. Pick a nickname rather than your real name, because it is shown to other players.
What it never collects: your name, your email address, your phone number, your contacts, your photos, your microphone, your precise location, or anything else on your device. The game does not ask for those permissions, so it could not collect them even by mistake.
Where it goes
To the companies below, and to nobody else. We do not sell data, we do not share it with data brokers, and there is no arrangement under which anyone else receives it.

Each of these is a large processor with its own published policy, linked above. They act on our instructions for the purpose listed and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes beyond what those policies describe.
Children
Squares is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Where a store signals that a user is a child, the game requests non-personalised ads only. If you believe a child has provided information to us, write to privacy@randomgamestudios.com and it will be deleted.
Your choices
- Reset or disable the advertising ID. On Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads. On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off tracking for Squares. The game keeps working; the ads just stop being tailored.
- Withdraw consent. In the European Economic Area and the UK, the game asks for consent before it serves personalised ads. You can change that answer at any time from the settings screen inside the game.
- Delete everything. Uninstalling the app deletes the local save and severs the random identifier. There is no account left behind, because there was never an account.
- Ask us. Email privacy@randomgamestudios.com and you will get a reply from the person who wrote the game.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. We do not sell personal information and never have.
In practice these requests are simple to honour here, because the only identifiers involved are resettable device identifiers that are not linked to your name. Write to privacy@randomgamestudios.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts doing something different, this page changes before the build ships, and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced in the community group.
